18 CANADA'S FARM SHOW 2024 Regina, SK | Presented by Viterra ANITA LUDWAR Anita’s career is rooted in deep science and technology innovation, with experience supporting innovators from applied research through to commercialization. She has managed multi-million-dollar genomics funding programs, led the inaugural Ag Stream at the Creative Destruction Lab (Rockies), and most recently led innovative projects at a biotechnology-focused supply chain startup before joining The51 Food & AgTech Fund. Anita deeply values the impact that early-stage innovators can have on the world, especially within agriculture and food, and loves exploring the limits of technology. CHRIS PATERSON Chris Paterson has been deeply involved in agronomy and agribusiness across North America, drawing from his upbringing on a farm in Saskatchewan. With over 25 years of experience, he has held various roles and has been a long-term angel investor in Agtech for the past decade. He has been directly involved in developing new business applications and value streams related to the Digitization of Farming, Agribusiness, and Agrifood. His favorite area of focus is where strategy meets technology. He is motivated by being a connector and leverages his diverse background as a farmer, investor, entrepreneur, technical agronomist, writer, traveler, and social networker to connect the best ideas with the right people. Chris is currently serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Pure Life Carbon Inc. EVAN SHOUT Evan Shout is the president and co-founder of Maverick Ag Ltd, a business risk management and consulting firm focused on insurance and data analytics. He also sits as chief financial officer at Hebert Grain Ventures (HGV), a 22,000-acre grain and oilseed operation in southeast Saskatchewan. Evan is a CPA and worked with MNP in his past career, having a specialty in large scale primary producer grain operations. He also was a shareholder in Shout Farms Ltd, a family grain farming operation in central Saskatchewan until January of 2014. His passion for the industry drives a calling that includes operational management of human resources, technology, data collection and financial and business risk management practices that will assist primary producer operations into the next generation of agriculture. HEATHER CLAIRE Heather grew up on a grain farm northwest of Saskatoon and attended the University of Saskatchewan, earning a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Marketing. She has worked in both retail and wholesale as an account manager for AgPro, Cargill and FCL, as the Digital Ag Lead at Farmers Edge for AB & SK and most recently as the Product Manager at Precision AI. Heather joined SaskTel in April of 2023 and is helping shape the companies’ unique Smart Ag strategy. Heather is passionate about the advancement of agriculture and how technology can be applied to help growers advance their yields and create a more sustainable future for generations to come. IAN MACDONALD Ian is a leader in Deloitte’s Technology Strategy & Transformation practice and is based in the Saskatoon, SK office. With a focus on the food and agri-business sector Ian is Deloitte Canada’s National Lead for Food and Agri-business in Energy, Resources and Industrials (ER&I) and is a leader within Deloitte’s Global Future of Food Community. With a background in Information Technology (IT), Operational Technology (OT) and Digital technology, Ian advises organizations on getting the most from their technology investments. Prior to Deloitte, Ian spent most of his 30+ year career in the agri-business industry focused on improving business operations via small, continuous improvements through to large-scale technology and business transformations. JULIANA GREEN Juliana Green is deeply passionate about global environmental health, particularly in the areas of Agtech and climate initiatives, which align with her personal and professional mission.
